WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Congresswoman Kay Granger (R-TX), Top Republican on the House Appropriations Committee, announced that the Department of Transportation (DOT) has awarded $200 million to the Fort Worth Transportation Authority for TEXRail, and $8.775 million to the North Central Texas Council of Governments (NCTCOG) and Texas DOT for a series of projects involving seven bridges in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.
“As the former Mayor, I know first-hand how vital infrastructure is to the local economy. As one of the fastest growing regions in the State of Texas, it is vital that we work to bolster our transportation infrastructure to ensure it can support continued growth and economic development. These two grants, totaling nearly $209 million for TEXRail and seven bridge projects in the DFW area, will stimulate economic growth, reduce congestion, and increase quality of life – a significant win for the people of my district and all Texans."
