ARLINGTON, TEXAS - Republican Leader of the House Appropriations Committee Congresswoman Kay Granger (R-TX) welcomed Secretary of the Army Ryan McCarthy to Arlington today for a tour of Bell Helicopter's Flight Research Center, releasing the following statement on the visit.

"I was proud to join Army Secretary Ryan McCarthy this morning at Bell Helicopter's Flight Research Center and watch, first-hand, their V-280 Valor cut across the North Texas skyline. Bell is answering the Army's call for the most modern, lethal, capable, and affordable aircraft as part of the Future Vertical Lift (FVL) Program. As the top Republican on the House Appropriations Committee, I was able to provide over $779 million for the FVL program in a way that undoubtedly will keep thousands of careers and bring even more to North Texas.

"I am keenly focused on supporting Secretary McCarthy's modernization vision for the Army, to include this specific program so vital to our national security and so many Texas families. Put simply, the best military in the world requires the best aircraft, built by the best people. The FVL program, much like Secretary McCarthy's other modernization priorities, will provide our Soldiers with the top-notch equipment and technology they need to defeat Russia, China and any others who wish to threaten the American way of life."
