WASHINGTON- DC- On Tuesday morning, Congresswoman Kay Granger (TX-12) received the Global Leaders Network Award from the Cooperative for Assistance and Relief Everywhere (CARE). Representative Granger was recognized for her continued work and leadership in defeating global poverty and addressing the needs of women and girls.

“Throughout my time in Congress, I have worked to improve the lives of those in poverty around the word- especially women, mothers, and children” said Granger.  “In trips to Cambodia and Peru with CARE, I saw firsthand how foreign assistance can protect the most marginalized. As Chair of the House Subcommittee on Foreign Operations, I worked tirelessly to increase foreign assistance funding that saves lives of mothers and children in places like Cambodia and Peru. It is important that we protect foreign assistance funding, while continuing to educate others on its importance. The vital healthcare services that we can provide to these nations are truly lifesaving.”
