WASHINGTON –Rep. Kay Granger (R-TX), Republican Leader of the House Appropriations Committee, issued the following statement after voting against the Democrats’ socialist reconciliation bill:

“After holding hostage any effort to develop a real, bipartisan infrastructure bill, Speaker Pelosi has forced through her socialist tax-and-spend package,” said Congresswoman Kay Granger. “This partisan bill includes some of the largest tax increases and spending increases in American history, and that spending goes to the most radical left-wing priorities.

“Instead of working together on a targeted infrastructure proposal focused on our Nation’s true needs, Speaker Pelosi preferred to use reconciliation – a little-known budget procedure – to pass her left-wing wish list without any Republican support.”
