WASHINGTON –Rep. Kay Granger (R-TX), Republican Leader of the House Appropriations Committee, released the following statement after the Army announced it has awarded Bell Textron Inc, headquartered in Fort Worth, Texas, the development contract for Army’s Future Long-Range Assault Aircraft (FLRAA) program.
“Bell Textron has once again proved its superiority in the important role they play in the defense of our nation. We are honored to have them headquartered in Fort Worth and grateful for all they do for our community.
“I have witnessed the V-280 in action, and it is truly spectacular. The Bell Textron engineers and employees, who have worked for nearly a decade on rigorous flight testing and design, are to be commended for this next-generation aircraft.
“What a great selection choice by the Defense Department as it looks to modernize the Army’s aviation capabilities for decades to come. The Army’s announcement marks yet another win for the long history of aerospace expertise in North Texas, and I could not be prouder of the great work displayed by the Bell-Textron team.”
