Congresswoman Kay Granger (TX-12) will host a Terrorism Town Hall for her constituents to talk about the changes our nation has experienced since September 11th.

Granger states, "We have all been affected by the tragedy of September 11th, as well as the subsequent events. Many of my friends and constituents of the 12th District have expressed nervousness and even fear over our nation's war on terrorism and its effect on the safety and security of their families. I am hosting a town hall meeting so my constituents can have a dialogue with experts in the field of terrorism, as well as receive practical information on how best to deal with the new and different situations we might be facing as a community."

Among the experts who will be on hand to answer questions include:


Lt. General Ronald R. Blanck, D.O., (U.S. Army, retired) is the president of the University of North Texas Health Science Center at Fort Worth. He spent 32 years in the military, retiring in 2000 as the Surgeon General of the U.S. Army and the commander of the U.S. Army Medical Command. Dr. Blanck was recently appointed Chairman of the Texas Medical Association's new Task Force on Bioterrorism. The Task Force will educate the Texas medical community and help coordinate its response to the bioterrorism threat.

Danny Defenbaugh is a terrorism expert and the Special Agent in Charge, Federal Bureau of Investigation, Dallas Division. During his more than 30 years with the FBI, Mr. Defenbaugh's primary investigative responsibilities have centered around violent crimes, kidnaping, extortion, hijacking and terrorist/bombing matters.

James R. Hall, Ph D. is an Associate Professor of Psychiatry and Human Behavior, University of North Texas Health Science Center at Fort Worth.
