WASHINGTON – Congresswoman Kay Granger (R-TX), the Republican Leader of the House Appropriations Committee, released the following statement today after the Senate voted to acquit President Trump on Wednesday.

“Today, the Senate finally put an end to the deeply partisan and politically-driven impeachment inquiry. Since the day President Trump was elected, Democrats have been unwilling and unable to accept the will of the American people. Over the past three years, they have used any and all means to try to remove President Trump from office, culminating in this brazen attempt to nullify the votes of all Americans who elected the President into office in 2016. Following months of this sham impeachment process, the Senate has voted to find President Trump innocent of charges of abuse of power and obstruction of Congress, and acquit him for life. Finally, Congress can return to doing the important work that the American people sent us here to do.”
